Leaves have changed, the rain has started, the heaters have clicked on- it is officially fall and the season of warm beverages has begun! True, coffee shops are on about every other corner these days, but for those tea drinkers out there, here are a few local tea shops to explore.


After traveling to tea houses across Europe and Morocco, the owners of The Jasmine Pearl returned to Portland and started a tea merchant company of their own. Their website alone offers a great deal of information on the different types of tea, traditions, and brewing tips. Their NE storefront offers free tastings and a number of events and classes.

With locations on Nob Hill and in Sellwood, Tea Chai Té is a perfect place to spend a cozy afternoon studying, visiting with friends, or catching up on your reading. The Sellwood locations is especially unique as it located in the historic Red Sellwood Caboose.
