This sale may well stand among the highest-profile residential real estate sales of 2014.The infamous water house, championed by former Portland Commission Randy Leonard to demonstrate water-saving features, has been sold for $394,950.The Oregonian reported the sale on Thursday.The house gained fame not for its state-of-art sustainability features, but for its public financing. Located at 1616 N.E. 140th Ave., in Portland's Russell neighborhood, the home was constructed with $950,000 of ratepayer money.
