Suburbs Dominate Portlands 25 Hottest Neighborhoods

The Business Journal, with help from Regional Multiple Listing Service, gathered home sales data for the greater Portland metropolitan area for 2014's third quarter. The results paint a picture with more white-picket fences than fixie bicycles.
The year's neck-breaking pace of home sales continued in Q3 as the region witnessed 7,933 total home sales, an increase over the brisk second quarter's 7,593.
Of the 25 neighborhoods (the data is actually divided by ZIP code, which we have, to the best of our abilities, assigned identifiable neighborhoods for), only 10 fall inside the city of Portland's boundaries.While there was little change at the top — the six neighborhoods with the most sales maintained their rankings from the second quarter — there was a lot of shuffling amongst the rest of the top 25. The top 25 accounted for nearly 60 percent of all home sales in the third quarter, while a total of 98 local ZIPs recorded at least one home sale.
